Simplify lambdas and vars in MessageServiceTest

Clean up unit tests for readability: convert multi-line assertThrows lambdas into single-line expressions, rename oldMessageId to idToUpdate for clarity, and add a short inline comment. Also includes a minor whitespace/formatting adjustment in the class declaration.
